The EDC has partnered with Allan Hancock College, LUSD, The County of SB and the Chamber of Commerce to host the first Pathways to Preparedness Summit. The summit targeted business owners, leaders in education, and folks interested in workforce development to come together to highlight and build pathways for students to transition successfully from the classroom to the workplace.
The California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) recently awarded the EDC and the City of Lompoc an Award of Merit for the Pathways to Preparedness education summit held in September 2017. This award was given in the economic development partnerships category which honors development projects between public and private sector that exemplify the spirit of partnership during 2017. Congratulations to the EDC, the City of Lompoc,The Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's BureauAllan Hancock College, and the Santa Barbara County Workforce Development Board on all of your hard work!

We work closely with the Economic Development Committee, a volunteer group made up of 22 community members, the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce, the hospitality Tourism Business Improvement District Visit Lompoc, Inc, as well as other City departments, brokers, developers, and local business owners.
