Ana Maya of Servicios Maya received the Pacific Coast Business Times Spirit of Small Business 2007 Award for Minority-Owned Business. She was nominated by the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce as North Santa Barbara County Business of the Year. Maya, who was born in Mexico City, began her one-woman Lompoc-based business in 1995. The business has grown to nine employees. Servicios Maya provides a wide range of services from tax preparation, notary services, insurance services, secretarial services and translation services, primarily to Spanish-speaking customers. Maya is also the chairwoman of the Hispanic Business Committee of the Lompoc Chamber and on the United Way advisory committee. She is an exceptional role model for small business and community philanthropy in the tri-counties area.
