The Civic Auditorium is located adjacent to the Lompoc Valley Middle
School campus. This facility features a 430 seat auditorium and an
adjacent "green room". The green room is used for recreational,
educational, or stage related purposes. The auditorium is used for
a variety of events during the course of the year including local
theatre, dance recitals, musical events, public meetings, and other
related activities. The facility is used nearly 300 days per year
and the primary users are the Lompoc Unified School District and the
Lompoc Parks and Recreation Department. The facility is also available
for rental by the general public."
"The historic auditorium was built in 1932 as the Lompoc Union
High School Auditorium --- located adjacent to the former Lompoc High
School campus. In 1971, the school district sold the building to the
City of Lompoc for $1. The City upgraded the building to meet the
current City building codes. Since that time, the building has gone
through several upgrades. The Parks & Recreation Department coordinates
the use of the facility.
