After many years of planning, the Lompoc Valley Community Center
opened its doors to the public in the fall of 2000. This 9,000 sq.
ft. facility is the home to many different senior citizen programs
which are primarily conducted on a Monday through Friday basis from
9:00 am until 3:00 pm. A daily nutrition program is offered at the
center for seniors and is coordinated by the Community Action Commission
(CAC).
The facility is also used in the evening and on weekends for a variety
of different functions including educational programs and classes,
private rentals, company events, family receptions or parties, etc.
The facility is available for rental by the general public.
The main dining room can sit up to 120 people, the classrooms can
accommodate 60 people, and the activity room (equipped with a beautiful
oak bar) can hold up to 80 people.
Located at the eastern entrance to the City (East Ocean Avenue &
7th Street), this facility was a former restaurant for many years
dating back to the 1960's. In need of a new facility to primarily
serve the needs of seniors, the facility was purchased from a private
party in 1998 and then renovated to a modern theme.
