ARBOR DAY

Tree in our community afford many benefits by providing shade, filtering air pollution, and muffling noise. They are psychologically important, by providing a peaceful respite in a busy and stressful world. Communities and citizens have a responsibility not only to preserve and protect existing trees, but also to plant a living legacy of beauty and environmental value for future generations.

A “Recognition Grove” of trees was begun in 1989 to honor community leaders for their generous public service. This year the trees will be planted to honor the following individuals:

      • Robert “Bob” Ferrell
      • Ken Ostini
      • Billy “Weasel” Sudden

Please join the Lompoc Beautification & Appearance Commission and the Parks & Recreation Commission as we honor these community leaders at:

Recognition Grove – Beattie park

Arbor Day – Saturday, March 22, 2003 11:00 A.M.

Beattie Park – South Side Trail Area

Questions regarding this event can be directed to Cindy McCall, Parks and Urban Forestry Manager at 875-8036.
