The television show, “Lompoc Police Beat” airs live each Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. Hosted by the Lompoc Police Department, the show has aired live each week since July of 1997. Lompoc Police Beat is live and allows people to call in with questions for the guest or the host. The call-in number is 736-2408.

“Lompoc Police Beat” broadcast its first show during July 1997 in an effort to reach more citizens in the Lompoc Valley with information related to crime and the Police Department.

Each week guests are brought in from the law enforcement community to talk about their area of expertise and answer questions from the callers along with weekly crime maps, most wanted persons, and crime preventions tips.

The show utilizes Lompoc Police Department Volunteers who are trained to operate every piece of equipment that is necessary to produce the show. This includes: Cameras, Character generator, Audio, Switchboard, Directing and Video recording devices. It takes 6-9 Volunteers a week to produce one show. The Lompoc Police Department also produces a Spanish version of Police Beat. It airs live at 8:00pm on the first Thursday of the month and is re-broadcast the rest of the month.
