The Barkin Park Dog Park Committee is proud to announce approval by the Lompoc City Council of a dog park establishment in Lompoc. The Barkin Park Dog Park Committee, a group of community volunteers, is organizing the Barkin Park Dog Park.
What will the Park include?
The park will have separate "Large Dog" and "Small Dog" areas, benches, water fountains and dog waste disposal facilities. The fence and gates will be designed for safe, escape-proof entry and exit for the dogs. There will also be parking along Barton Avenue. The parkland has been provided by the City of Lompoc and the City will help maintain the park by furnishing trash cans, water and mow the turf. All other materials and costs have to be funded entirely by donations.
What is the Location of the Park?
The Dog Park will be located at 300 West Barton Avenue.
Barkin Park Dog Park Mission Statement:
"To establish a fenced in, off-leash dog park where well-behaved canine citizens can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering or annoying people, property or wildlife. To develop a beautiful, well-maintained open space to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the park's rules and regulations. To view this park as a community project, in partnership with the City of Lompoc, designated to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike."
