The City of Lompoc is committed to conservation in our community! We offer a wide range of cost-effective home and business energy and water savings programs to City of Lompoc utility customers. Important Information for the Winter Months!

Please check your irrigation system to make sure you are not watering your landscape during the rainy season. Remember - your sewer rates are based on a six year average of your water use during the months of January, February and March.

Read your bill monthly. If your water use is higher than normal, you may have a leak. How to find a water leak

Space heater use increases your utility bill! If you see an increase in your energy use during the winter months, check to see if an electric space heater is being used. The use of a space heater will greatly increase your energy costs.

Notice: Mandatory No Water Wasting Restrictions are in Effect

The City of Lompoc has had No Water Wasting Restrictions since January 16, 1990 in order to help conserve water. City Council made changes to the restrictions on September 5, 2017. Please review the current restrictions below.

Do you need help paying your bill?

The City may be able to help you. If you qualify for Electric Rate Assistance, you may be eligible to receive a credit of up to $9.00 towards your electric charges each month.

Electric Rate Assistance: To see if you are eligible, please download the application or call 805-875-8252 to request an application by mail. You must complete the application and return it with required documentation to the City of Lompoc.

City of Lompoc Residential Medical Discount Program: This program is available to residents who have qualifying medical conditions. To see if you are eligible, please download the application or call 805-875-8258 to request an application by mail.

Additional Assistance Programs

Catholic Charities: You may be eligible for assistance. Contact 805-736-6226 for more information.

CAC Energy Services and Home Energy Assistance Program: You may qualify for home energy upgrades and utility payment assistance towards your electric, gas, wood, propane bill, if you meet certain criteria. This program is administered by Community Action Commission. Please visit their website for more information or call 805-617-2897.

Southern California Gas Company: The Gas Company provides bill assistance for customers with a gas account. Please visit their website for more information.

Rebates


Do you want to save energy and water and receive a rebate?

The City offers rebates to help you reduce energy and water use in your home, if you purchase Energy Star and Water Sense labeled appliances and toilets.

For more information about these programs, call 805-875-8252 or click on a program below to send an email to staff. Provide your name, mailing address and telephone number to request more information.

Please note that old refrigerators must be recycled at the City of Lompoc Landfill. The City can do this for you at no cost. Please call Conservation staff to schedule an appointment at 805-875-8252. Allow up to 3 weeks for an appointment.

Application for all Appliances, LED Lighting, Rain Barrels and Toilets

Appliance Rebates

Clothes Washer Replacement Rebate: $300 rebate is available to replace a clothes washer that is not labeled Energy Star with a new Energy Star labeled clothes washer.

Freezer Replacement Rebate: $144 rebate is available to replace a working freezer with a new Energy Star model.

Freezer Buy-Back Rebate: $35 rebate is available to dispose of any old freezer at the City of Lompoc Landfill. The City can do this for you at no cost.

Refrigerator Replacement Rebate: $144 rebate is available to replace a working refrigerator with a new Energy.

Refrigerator Income Qualifying Replacement Program: For electric customers who qualify for the Electric Rate Assistance Program, the City will help you purchase a new Energy Star refrigerator from a participating appliance dealer. A rebate of up to $635 is available.

Refrigerator Buy-Back Rebate: $35 rebate is available to dispose of any old freezer at the City of Lompoc Landfill.

Lighting Rebates

LED Light Bulb Replacement Rebate: Save up to 80% of the cost to operate lighting with Energy Star labeled LED light bulbs. Purchase LED bulbs to replace old inefficient incandescent light bulbs with equivalent wattage LED light bulbs and receive a rebate of up to a $10 per light bulb (not to exceed one-half of purchase cost). To receive a rebate, complete application and submit to the City with the new LED bulb packaging and receipt. Limit: 10 light bulbs per electric customer per year.

LED Holiday Light Rebate: Save up to 90% of the cost to operate decorative holiday lighting with LED light strands. Purchase LED holiday lights and receive a rebate of $4 for up to a 75 light strand or $8 for a 76 or more light strand (not to exceed purchase cost). Limit: rebate available for 5 strands per electric customer.

Exit Signs: the City will provide a rebate of $15 to replace an incandescent or a fluorescent exit sign with a LED or an electroluminescent sign. Please contact 805-875-8252 for information about this program.

Commercial Lighting Rebate: Please contact 805-875-8252 for information about this program.

Commercial Custom Rebate: Any energy efficient retrofit not listed above may qualify for the Customized Rebate of $0.15 per watt saved. An inspection of the existing equipment is required. Please contact 805-875-8252 for information about this program.

Landscape Rebates

Rain Barrel Rebate: If you purchase a rain barrel and are a City of Lompoc Water Customer, you can receive a rebate of up to $50 per rain barrel. Rebate is limited to 4 barrels per customer.

Smart Landscape Rebate: Want to save water outdoors? Replace grass with low water using plants, rocks, mulch, or synthetic turf and receive a rebate of up to $1000.

Toilet Replacement Rebates

Toilet Replacement Rebate: Receive a rebate of $100 if you replace a 1.6 or 3 gallon per flush (gpf) toilet with a Water Sense labeled toilet using 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) or less. A plumbing permit may be required if you replace supply lines, valves, or relocate a toilet. Call 805-875-8252 for requirements.

Free Programs

Free Aerators and Showerheads: Aerators and Showerheads are available at no cost to customers. Please visit the Conservation Counter at City Hall.

Free Mulch and Tree Planting Program: Please contact the City of Lompoc Urban Forestry Division at 805-875-8034 for more information.

Can I install a PV (solar) system in the City of Lompoc utility service area?

  • Solar Interconnection Notice: The City of Lompoc has fulfilled its California mandated Solar Net Energy Metering obligations. However, the City still offers a Customer Owned Generation Rate Schedule to customers who install solar systems.
