Post Date:11/29/2018 3:04 PM
Crucial operations will continue during holiday closure

LOMPOC, CA, Nov. 29, 2018 – Lompoc city facilities and most city field operations will be closed from Monday, Dec. 24, 2018 through Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.

The holiday closure that was approved by Lompoc City Council on Nov. 20 is being implemented as a cost-savings measure for the city, while minimizing the impact on the public and city employees. No employees are required to take unpaid time off during the closure.

Crucial operations including police, fire, treasury, water treatment and wastewater treatment will continue to function during the holiday closure. Lompoc City Hall will be closed, along with the Lompoc Library and recreation facilities. The Lompoc Library’s last open day before the break will be Saturday, Dec. 22.

There will be no solid waste collection, and the Lompoc Landfill will be closed, on Christmas and New Year’s Day. The collection schedule will be delayed by one day directly following these holidays. The Solid Waste Division will be mailing its Trash Talk newsletter to its customers in December, which will contain more detailed information.

City of Lompoc treasury operations will continue during the closure to ensure utility bill payments are processed.  Mailed utility bills will be processed as usual.  Utility payments may also be placed in the yellow utility payment drop box out front of the Lompoc Police Department at 107 Civic Center Plaza. Payments deposited in the drop box should be placed in an envelope with the payer’s name, address and account number clearly indicated on the envelope. Bills can also be paid online at: https://www.cityoflompoc.com/government/departments/management-services/finance/pay-bills-online. Those with utility bill questions or who are interested in making a payment arrangement, can call (805) 736-1261, and follow the detailed instructions provided.
