LOMPOC, CA, Aug. 18, 2021 – The City of Lompoc wants to let the community know about traffic delays and detours on city streets in the coming months due to transportation for a wind energy project being built in the area.
The Strauss Energy Wind Project, which is building a wind farm southwest of Lompoc, plans to transport more than 200 oversized loads through the City of Lompoc beginning as early as Monday, Aug. 23, and continuing through late November or early December.
These loads will be transported weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. from West Ocean Avenue to South F Street, to Cypress Avenue, to I Street, to San Miguelito Canyon Road. Most loads will require traffic delays lasting only a minute or two. Certain loads will require road closures lasting up to one hour, and detours as outlined in this delivery route map and blade route map.
Questions from the public may be directed to Michael McCormick with Strauss Energy at (858) 450-6804 or notices@baywa-re.us.
