LOMPOC, CA, July 19, 2022 – The Lompoc Streetscape Multimodal Improvement Plan has
been approved by unanimous vote Tuesday night of both the Lompoc City Council and City of
Lompoc Planning Commission.
The Lompoc City Council and City of Lompoc Planning Commission discussed the proposed
streetscape plan and transportation improvements at a joint meeting on Tuesday, July 19. Members
of the public were also in attendance, along with city staff. Next steps include obtaining funding
to implement the plan and making amendments to the city’s general plan, before implementation
occurs.
Public input has been an important part of this Lompoc Streetscape Multimodal Improvement Plan
for the H Street and Ocean Avenue corridor.
The Lompoc Streetscape Multimodal Improvement Plan includes proposed bicycle and pedestrian
improvements, as well as streetscape design and beautification needed along Lompoc’s major
transportation corridors of H Street and Ocean Avenue. Proposed improvements along these
highways would improve safety, walkability, multimodal access, and connectivity while also
identifying new city gateways, landscaping, and encouraging in-fill development and revitalization
through the project corridors.
The draft plan, which includes community input gathered through surveys and community
engagement meetings, can be reviewed on the City of Lompoc Planning Division web page at:
