    Bookmobile Storybook Event Postponed Due To Rain

     LOMPOC, CA, Jan. 4, 2023 –  The ongoing storms have prompted a second rain-related postponement of the first-ever Sidewalk Story at the Lompoc Community Garden.


    In partnership with the Lompoc Community Garden, the Charlotte’s Web Bookmobile is debuting the first-ever Sidewalk Story at the Lompoc Community Garden.

    This event hosted by the Charlotte’s Web Bookmobile in partnership with the Lompoc Community Garden is now scheduled for Saturday, April 15.

    Everyone is invited to explore the Lompoc Community Garden with a new outdoor literacy installation called Sidewalk Story on Saturday, April 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 903 W. College Ave. 

    A path through the garden will take children and adults on a self-guided reading adventure through native plants, vegetables, fruit trees and flowers. Along the pathway each page of a children’s storybook will be installed at a kid-friendly height. The featured book is “Nosotros Means Us: A Bilingual Story/Un cuento bilingüe” by Paloma Valdivia. Gardeners from the Lompoc Community Garden will be speaking about their gardens and answering questions along with offering refreshments made from fresh ingredients sourced from the garden.

    The event will also be featuring the brand-new Route One Mobile Farmers Market. The mobile market offers fresh fruit and vegetables, locally sourced and affordably priced. The market also accepts EBT. More information is available on their website: https://www.sbcfoodaction.org.
