Summer Reading Program Kicking Off At Lompoc Library

Participants of all ages can earn great prizes, take part in full calendar of activities

LOMPOC, CA, May 30, 2019 – A summer of fun kicks off at the Lompoc Library this Saturday, June 1, with sign-ups starting for this year’s Lompoc Library Summer Reading Program: “It’s Showtime @ Your Library”.

The Summer Reading Program is open to all ages, including early learners up to 5, children 6 to 12, teens 11 to 18, (incoming 6th and 7th graders can choose between the children and teen programs), and adults. All who sign up for the program receive a free book.

Summer Reading Program registration can be completed at the Lompoc Library, Charlotte’s Web Bookmobile, or Vandenberg Village Branch between June 1 and July 26, and prize redemption will take place from June 21 to Aug. 9.

In addition to the opportunity to read for fantastic prizes, the Summer Reading Program offers a full schedule of summer activities for all ages. These events including family story times, Zoo to You, science and magic shows, craft club, art, movies, parties, and more.

Also, Lunch at the Library is back! From June 17 through Aug. 2, the library will be serving lunch Monday through Thursday from noon to 1 p.m., and snacks Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Meals and snacks are provided by the Lompoc Unified School District.
