Lompoc Library Restroom Renovation Complete
LOMPOC, CA, Aug. 28, 2019 – Restroom renovations are complete at the Lompoc Public Library, updating a pair of 50-year-old restrooms to water-efficient new models.
Work began in May on the two restrooms off of the Grossman Gallery near the library’s main entrance. The newly constructed restrooms are unisex and single-occupancy, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant and feature sinks that turn on with sensors. The previous restrooms were built in 1968 for the construction of the new Lompoc Library, and consisted of a men’s restroom and a women’s restroom, each with two stalls.
The total cost of the restroom renovation was $133,879, and was paid for with funds set aside for capital improvement projects at the library.
Lompoc Library Director Sarah Bleyl said that in addition to providing much-needed upgrades, the new restrooms will be an asset to the Grossman Gallery. The art gallery hosts a variety of library and community events, and is available for rent.
“The restrooms at the Lompoc Library were badly outdated, and we’re so pleased to have these new, water-efficient restrooms available for our community to use,” Bleyl said.
