Lompoc Residents Cautioned About Scam Calls
Utility billing division will never call a customer demanding payment
LOMPOC, CA, Oct. 8, 2019 – The City of Lompoc wants to warn residents about scam phone calls related to city business, following a number of recent reports of these calls.
The City of Lompoc Utility Billing Division never contacts utility customers by phone demanding payment or seeking personal information. Utility billing will only call a customer if there’s an issue regarding a submitted payment.
Scam callers are sometimes able to provide false caller identification for a City of Lompoc phone number.
The City of Lompoc Utility Division only accepts payment by phone, in person at Lompoc City Hall, via the drop box inside city hall, via the drop box in the parking lot outside city hall, and online at: https://www.cityoflompoc.com/government/departments/management-services/finance/pay-bills-online.
Customers should never arrange to exchange payment with anyone via any other means. Anyone with questions or concerns regarding a possible scam call is asked to call the Utility Billing Division at: (805) 736-1261.
In addition, scam phone calls involving the Lompoc Police Department are also frequently reported.
