Lompoc City Holiday Closures

Post Date:11/08/2019 4:24 PM

Lompoc city facilities and most city field operations will be closed for the holiday break from Monday, Dec. 23, 2019 through Friday, Dec. 27, 2019. City facilities will again be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.

The week-long holiday closure that was approved by Lompoc City Council is being implemented as a cost-savings measure for the city, while minimizing the impact on the public and city employees.

In addition, most Lompoc city facilities will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day, as well as Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and Nov. 29, for Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving.

Crucial operations including police, fire, water treatment and wastewater treatment will continue to function during the holiday closures.

There will be no solid waste collection, and the Lompoc Landfill will be closed, on Veterans Day, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The collection schedule will be delayed by one day directly following these holidays.  The landfill will also be closed on Thanksgiving, with the Thursday, Nov. 28 collection taking place on Friday, Nov. 29, and Friday’s collection taking place on Saturday. The solid waste division will be mailing its Trash Talk newsletter to its customers in December, which will contain more detailed information.

During the holiday closures, utility payments may be mailed in, paid online, or placed in the yellow utility payment drop box out front of the Lompoc Police Department at 107 Civic Center Plaza. Payments deposited in the drop box should be placed in an envelope with the payer’s name, address and account number clearly indicated on the envelope. Bills can also be paid online at: A fee for online payments is charged by the company that processes the city’s online payments.

The option of paying utility bills over the phone will not be available during the holiday closures.

Service orders for the City of Lompoc will not be available during the holiday closures. Customers who are moving and need to transfer, connect or disconnect service are asked to notify the City of Lompoc by 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19. One business day notice is required for service orders. Same-day service is available until 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 for a $85 fee.
