The City of Lompoc Building Division has made the following forms available in order to assist you in planning and permitting your building project. These documents are intended to be used to assist in developing projects that will conform to California Building Codes, therefore expediting the permit process. These designs should not be construed as the only acceptable means of construction.
Available Forms and Details
- After the Fact Construction - This must be filled out and turned in with your application in the cases of legalizing construction built without permits
- Attached Patio Cover Permit - This can be used to obtain a simple patio cover permit, just provide a site plan and fill in the yellow blanks for approval
- Building Permit Application - This application is obsolete, due to the recent opening of our online customer portal, but can still be filled out and added as an attachment
- Commercial/Mixed-Use Project Requirements - Minimum requirements for these types of projects
- Construction Waste Management Plan - Requirements for new construction regarding debris and demolition materials. This link will take you to the Solid Waste division for more information and forms.
- Demolition Permit Requirements - Minimum requirements for a demolition permit
- Electric Panel Upgrade Requirements (residential) - Information regarding installation and inspection for electric panel upgrades
- Freestanding Block Wall Detail - This shows the footing and rebar information for a block wall, as any block wall greater than 4 feet requires a building permit. It must be submitted along with a site plan (see below)
- Grading Permit Requirements - Minimum requirements to apply for a grading permit
- Notice to Owner-Builders - Form must be read, initialed, signed, and presented to building staff with a valid ID to issue Owner-Builder permit
- Owner Builder Booklet - Simple details to inform an owner what to expect from submittal through final inspection
- Sample Residential Site Plan - A site plan must be included with every residential permit submittal, aside from over-the-counter electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or reroof applications
- Sample Commercial Site Plan - A site plan must be included with every commercial permit submittal
- Smoke Alarm/CO2 affidavit - This form should be completed and given to the inspector at final building inspection
- Soils Report - If you are proposing new construction, this will help you to determine if a soils report will be required
