The Safety Element identifies and, whenever possible, reduces the impact of natural and man-made hazards that may threaten the health, safety, and property of Lompoc residents, business owners, and visitors. The Element covers a series of topics, both State mandated and those which are specific to Lompoc and the surrounding region. Such topics include flood hazards, fire hazards, seismicity, aviation hazards, and disaster and emergency response preparedness.

The Safety Element was adopted by City Council on September 2, 2025.
