The General Plan is the City of Lompoc’s guiding document for growth and prosperity in the City. Outlining goals, policies, and implementation measures in a fashion complimenting the City’s core values and providing direction for services provided by all departments; public safety, water resources, parks & recreation, land use, to all members utilizing the services provided to the community.

On December 3, 2024, the Lompoc City Council adopted the City's first Environmental Justice Element!

The Environmental Justice Element establishes goals, policies, and programs to ensure all members of Lompoc, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, and socio-economic status feel valued, safe, respected, included, and secure.

On November 19, 2024, the City adopted the revised Housing Element Update.

The Housing Element Update was originally adopted November 21, 2023, but needed to be revised to ensure compliance with State law. Following its adoption, the City submitted the re-adopted Housing Element to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for certification, as outlined in HCD's compliance letter. On January 7, 2025, HCD certified the City's Housing Element.
