The Lompoc City Fire Department is proud to deliver all risk emergency services using a modern, state-of-the-art fleet designed to meet the evolving needs of the community.
Type 1 Fire Engines:
At the core of the department's response capability are Pierce Type 1 engine companies, equipped with advanced technology and tools to handle a wide range of emergencies - from structural fires and medical calls to urban rescues.
Type 3 Fire Engine:
The department's Type 3 Brush Truck is a specialized wildland firefighting unit designed for rapid response to vegetation fires and other wildland incidents.
The Brush Truck's off-road capabilities allow it to navigate rugged terrain, making it a vital asset in remote and difficult-to-access areas.
The Brush Truck serves within Lompoc's jurisdiction but also supports broader firefighting efforts across the Santa Barbara County Operational Area.
The Brush Truck is part of the California Mutual Aid system, allowing it to:
Deploy statewide during major wildfire emergencies.
Use its mobility and equipment to significantly enhance the effectiveness of wildfire suppression operations.
Rescue:
The department staffs a two-person Type 6 rescue unit daily, which:
Enhances response flexibility.
Allows the department to maintain full-service capabilities across various incident types.
Command Vehicles:
A fleet of command vehicles are also used to respond to various incidents throughout the city and larger operational area.
In 2023, the department launched a comprehensive fleet replacement initiative, ensuring that:
Firefighters have access to cutting-edge apparatus every day
This commitment is reinforced by a 10-year apparatus replacement plan, which will position Lompoc Fire to maintain operational readiness and deliver dependable emergency response well into the future.
