The Lompoc City Fire Department is proud to deliver all risk emergency services using a modern, state-of-the-art fleet designed to meet the evolving needs of the community. 

Type 1 Fire Engines:

  • At the core of the department's response capability are Pierce Type 1 engine companies, equipped with advanced technology and tools to handle a wide range of emergencies - from structural fires and medical calls to urban rescues.

Type 3 Fire Engine:

  • The department's Type 3 Brush Truck is a specialized wildland firefighting unit designed for rapid response to vegetation fires and other wildland incidents. 
  • The Brush Truck's off-road capabilities allow it to navigate rugged terrain, making it a vital asset in remote and difficult-to-access areas.
  • The Brush Truck serves within Lompoc's jurisdiction but also supports broader firefighting efforts across the Santa Barbara County Operational Area.
  • The Brush Truck is part of the California Mutual Aid system, allowing it to:
    • Deploy statewide during major wildfire emergencies.
    • Use its mobility and equipment to significantly enhance the effectiveness of wildfire suppression operations.

Rescue:

  • The department staffs a two-person Type 6 rescue unit daily, which:
    • Enhances response flexibility.
    • Allows the department to maintain full-service capabilities across various incident types.

Command Vehicles:

  • A fleet of command vehicles are also used to respond to various incidents throughout the city and larger operational area.
  • In 2023, the department launched a comprehensive fleet replacement initiative, ensuring that:
    • Firefighters have access to cutting-edge apparatus every day
    • This commitment is reinforced by a 10-year apparatus replacement plan, which will position Lompoc Fire to maintain operational readiness and deliver dependable emergency response well into the future.
