Wildfire Prevention

The Lompoc City Fire Department, in collaboration with the Fire Safe Council, the greater Lompoc Valley community and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, is actively engaged in developing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). Through detailed analysis and community input, this collaborative effort will focus on:

• Identifying and assessing wildland fire risks specific to the Lompoc area, with the goal of enhancing preparedness and resilience.
• Providing a comprehensive report outlining targeted mitigation strategies, including fuel reduction, defensible space improvements and public education initiatives.
• The development of a CWPP is a critical step in strengthening regional wildfire defense and protecting lives, property and natural resources across the greater Lompoc Valley.
