Welcome to 2026! The new year brings a new reading challenge that celebrates your reading freedom. No matter how you read—whether by turning pages, swiping a screen, or listening with your ears—this is your year to enjoy books on your own terms. Start reading today and earn badges all year long. 

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Enjoy reading 1,000 books with your little ones! Log reading and earn badges all along the way. We encourage families to read, sing, play, write, and talk with their young ones every day. Reading to your little one helps prepare them for kindergarten.

Step 1:

Step 2:

Read, listen, and create book reviews. Log each book read or listened to on the site. Create a book review: drawing, photograph, poem, emoji, or text telling us what you think of the book.

Step 3:

Log reading, upload book reviews, earn badges!
