Important Information for the Winter Months!
Please check your irrigation system to make sure you are not watering your landscape during the rainy season. Remember - your sewer rates are based on a six year average of your water use during the months of January, February and March.
Read your bill monthly. If your water use is higher than normal, you may have a leak.
Space heater use increases your utility bill! If you see an increase in your energy use during the winter months, check to see if an electric space heater is being used. The use of a space heater will greatly increase your energy costs.
Notice: Mandatory No Water Wasting Restrictions are in Effect
The City of Lompoc has had No Water Wasting Restrictions since January 16, 1990 in order to help conserve water. City Council made changes to the restrictions on September 5, 2017. Please review the current restrictions below.

Do you need help paying your bill?
The City may be able to help you. If you qualify for Electric Rate Assistance, you may be eligible to receive a credit of up to $9.00 towards your electric charges each month.
Electric Rate Assistance: To see if you are eligible, please download the application or call 805-875-8252 to request an application by mail. You must complete the application and return it with required documentation to the City of Lompoc.
City of Lompoc Residential Medical Discount Program: This program is available to residents who have qualifying medical conditions. To see if you are eligible, please download the application or call 805-875-8258 to request an application by mail.

Catholic Charities: You may be eligible for assistance. Contact 805-736-6226 for more information.
CAC Energy Services and Home Energy Assistance Program: You may qualify for home energy upgrades and utility payment assistance towards your electric, gas, wood, propane bill, if you meet certain criteria. This program is administered by Community Action Commission. Please visit their website for more information or call 805-617-2897.
Southern California Gas Company: The Gas Company provides bill assistance for customers with a gas account. Please visit their website for more information.
Do you want to save energy and water, and receive a rebate?
The City offers rebates to help you reduce energy and water use in your home, if you purchase ENERGY STAR and WATER SENSE qualified appliances and toilets.

Please note: With the exception of the $75.00 Refrigerator/Freezer Rebate that does not require disposal, old clothes washer, freezers and refrigerators must be recycled. Proof of disposal is required. The City can do this for you at no cost. Call 805-875-8018 for information.
Clothes Washer Replacement Rebate: $300 is available to replace a standard unit clothes washer with a new ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washer depending on the heat source. The old clothes washer must be recycled. Proof of disposal is required. The City can take the appliance to the landfill at no cost. Application
Freezer Replacement Rebate: $150 rebate is available to replace a standard unit freezer with a new Energy STAR qualified freezer. The old freezer must be recycled. Proof of disposal is required. The City can take the appliance to the landfill at no cost. Application
Refrigerator Replacement Rebate: $150 rebate is available to replace a working refrigerator with a new ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator. The old refrigerator must be recycled. Proof of disposal is required. The City can take the appliance to the landfill at no cost. Application
Refrigerator Income Qualifying Replacement Program Rebate: For electric customers who qualify for the Electric Rate Assistance Program, the City will help you purchase a new ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator from a participating appliance dealer. A $640 voucher is available. Please call 805-875-8252 for more information.
Refrigerator/Freezer Buy-Back Rebate: $35 rebate is available to dispose of any old refrigerator or Freezer at the City of Lompoc Landfill. Proof of disposal is required. The City can take the appliance to the landfill at no cost. Application
Refrigerator/Freezer Rebate (not replacing existing refrigerator or freezer): $75 rebate is available for the purchase of an ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator or an ENERGY STAR qualified freezer without disposal of existing refrigerator or existing freezer. Application
Dishwasher Rebate: $50 rebate is available to replace a standard dishwasher with an ENERGY STAR qualified dishwasher. Water heat must be electric to qualify. The old dishwasher must be recycled. Proof of disposal is required. The City can take the appliance to the landfill at no cost. Application
Variable-Speed Pool Pump Rebate: $250 rebate is available to replace a standard unit 1 horsepower or greater Variable-Speed pool Pump with a Variable Speed Unit Control. Please call 805-875-8018 with any questions. Application
Residential HVAC Rebate: Please contact 805-875-8018 for information about this program. Application
LED Light Bulb Replacement Rebate: Save up to 80% of the cost to operate lighting with ENERGY STAR qualified LED light bulbs. Purchase screw-in or pin- based LED bulbs to replace old inefficient light bulbs with equivalent wattage LED light bulbs and receive a rebate of up to $10 per light bulb (not to exceed one-half of purchase cost). Completed application, proof of ENERGY STAR qualification, and wattage will be needed. Application
LED Holiday Light Rebate: Save up to 90% of the cost to operate decorative holiday lighting with ENERGY STAR qualified LED light strands. Purchase 70 or more bulb string holiday lights and receive a rebate of $4 (not to exceed purchase cost). Completed application and proof of ENERGY STAR qualification will be needed. Application
Ceiling Fan Rebate: $50 rebate is available for the purchase of an ENERGY STAR qualified ceiling fan. Completed application and proof of ENERGY STAR proof will be needed. Application
Smart Power Strip Rebate: $10 rebate per unit available for the purchase of a Smart Power Strip with Control Device. Completed application and proof of purchase will be needed. Application

Commercial & Industrial Custom Project Rebate: Any energy efficient retrofit not listed above may qualify for the Customize Rebate. An inspection of the existing equipment is required. Please contact 805-875-8018 for information about this program. Application

High performance Low-Flush Toilet Rebate: $100 rebate is available if you are a City of Lompoc Water Customer and replace a standard toilet with a WaterSense Labeled model toilet. Application
Rain Barrel Rebate: $50 rebate is available if you are City of Lompoc Water Customer. Receive a $50 rebate for the purchase of a 50 or more gallon Rain Barrel. Rebate is limited to 4 barrels per customer. Application
Automatic Irrigation Controller Rebate: $100 rebate is available if you replace a Manually Controlled Irrigation System with a WaterSense Labeled Automatic Irrigation Controller Model. Application
Landscape Program Rebate: Want to save water outdoors? Replace grass with drought tolerant landscape requiring less water, and receive a rebate up to $1,000. Application
Water Leak Detection and Repair Rebate: The Water Leak Detection and Repair Rebate Program was created to help encourage water utility customers to repair leaks in order to prevent the waste of water. The program is intended to help customers offset the cost of locating and repairing water leaks requiring the services of a professional. Important! Please provide the rebate application to your professional prior to starting leak detection or leak repair work to ensure that all requirements are met to receive a rebate. Water Leak Detection and Repair projects may require city building permits. Prior to beginning work, contact the City of Lompoc’s Building Division at 805-875-8200. Exception: The repair of residential irrigation line leaks does not require a permit.
Program Rebate Amount:
The Maximum rebate available is $700.
The Rebate may be used to reimburse labor and material costs by a licensed plumber, contractor or leak detection service. Application

Shutting off your Water Service at the Meter
During normal business hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday,
The City of Lompoc Water Division provides free service to customers for turning off water meters to make repairs or check for leaks. on the customer's property. Call 805-736-1617.
After normal business hours and on weekends and holidays
To have a water meter turned off for emergency repair contact the Lompoc Police Department at 805-736-2341 to have the on-call Water Department employee respond. The standard call-out fee of $35.00 will be charged to the monthly utility bill to turn-off the water meter to enable property owners to make emergency repairs to their plumbing system. To restore water service, a time can be arranged with the on-call Water department employee. There is no additional charge to restore water service during normal business hours.
The property owner, tenant or plumbing contractor may be charged for any damage occurring to the City of Lompoc water meter service piping or meter while shutting off the meter . Turning off the water meter should be done in emergency situations only.
Depending on the extent to repair a damaged meter valve, the cost could range up to $1500.00.
Free Aerators and Showerheads: Aerators and Showerheads are available at no cost to customers. Limit: 2 Aerators, 2 Showerheads per City of Lompoc water utility accounts. Please contact 805-875-8252 for more information.

Solar Interconnection Notice: The City of Lompoc has fulfilled its California mandated Solar Net Energy Metering obligations. However, the City still offers a Customer Owned Generation Rate Schedule to customers who install solar systems.
