Christmas Tree Recycling Week: January 6 - 10th, 2020
Wondering how to get rid of your Christmas tree now that the holiday's are over? Christmas Tree Recycling Week is your answer!
Residential customers should put trees out for collection by 7:00 am on their scheduled trash collection day during the week of January 6th. Place trees 3 feet away from where your refuse containers are serviced and they will be picked up this week at no additional charge.
Remove all decorations and tree stands prior to putting your tree out. The City has contracted with West Coast Arborists to grind the trees into mulch that will be used as landscape material throughout the City.
Trees may also be disposed of at the Lompoc Landfill at no additional charge.
Free Appliance, Mattress, and Futon Drop-off at the Lompoc Landfill
Residents can dispose of mattresses/box springs and futons at the Lompoc Landfill free of charge. Residents can also dispose of appliances (2 per day) free of charge.
The Landfill is open Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday/Sunday, 10:00 am to 3:45 pm.
Changes in the Recycling Container
Single-family residences and business customers are offered a 3-container system: Trash, Commingled Recycling and Green Waste Recycling. Your refuse bill is solely based on the level of your trash service - size of container and frequency of collection. Recycling and Green Waste services are offered at no additional charge. Single family residences are collected once/week, and commercial customers are collected up to five days/week, Monday - Friday.
